Lübecker Hafen Gesellschaft and Finnlines have jointly won a 3-year contract to handle 60,000 factory new automobiles destined for Russia, to be shipped at LHG’s Skandinavienkai in Lübeck Travemünde.
The cars, covering various models from compacts to sports cars, will arrive mainly by rail, and in Fenix Investments’ Port of Bronka they will be discharged at the ro-ro terminal.
Shipping new cars represents a new business stream for LHG, and LHG’s MD Professor Sebastian Jürgens believes the Russian market will pick up again in the future.
